Michigan State University, The American College of Greece and Anatolia College aim to provide equal opportunities to all test takers. Candidates with learning or other disabilities, wishing to receive special accommodations should do so by submitting all relevant medical documents stating their condition along with the desired accommodation, as early as possible and within the designated registration period. The documentation submitted must be valid and must have been issued by a committee of specialists (KEDDY) or a public hospital and must include a consent form
Special Accommodation Arrangements
Candidates with Visual Impairement
For candidates with visual impairment the following provisions are possible:
  • An enlarged examination booklet: Additionally, a sample booklet with enlarged font can be sent to the prospective candidate, in advance, to ensure that the font size is large enough to be read without difficulty.
  • An examination booklet in Braille: Blind candidates who are able to read Braille, can be provided a test booklet in Braille.
Note: Candidates with visual impairment need to contact The Testing Center at least 3 months before the exam date, in order to arrange the aforementioned accommodations.
Note: All candidates requesting Special Accommodation in the Attiki Region will be taking their exam in Agia Paraskevi.
Candidates with Auditory Impairment
For candidates with auditory impairments, the following accommodationis available:
  • Being seated close to the speakers: Candidates with mild to moderate hearing loss, may be seated close to the speakers broadcasting the listening section of the test
Note: All candidates requesting Special Accommodation in the Attiki Region will be taking their exam in Agia Paraskevi.
Candidates with Learning Disabilities
Candidates with learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysanagnosia) are allowed 30% extra time to complete the written sections of the exam.
Candidates wishing to receive extra time must submit all necessary medical documentation and the signed Consent Form on the MSU online platform, when registering for the exam. All forms and documents submitted are confidential and the information provided will be used solely to determine the accommodation granted (GDPR). The documentation submitted must have been issued by a committee of specialists (KEDDY) or a public hospital.
All medical documentation submitted, must clearly state the candidates’ learning disability for which special accommodation is requested.
Candidates diagnosed with dysgraphiamust also submit a sample of their written work, such as a short essay or a paragraph.
Note: All candidates requesting Special Accommodation in the Attiki Region will be taking their exam in Agia Paraskevi.
Candidates with Physical Disabilities
Candidates with physical disabilities such as a motor impairmentthat prevents them from filling out the answer sheet and/or writing the essay, will be given 30% additional time in the written section. Extra time will be granted to candidates with either permanent disabilities or temporary injuries (i.e. sprain or broken bone in the dominant hand, wrist or arm).
Our exam venues are wheelchair accessible. Candidates with motor disabilities need to contact the Testing Center well in advance in order to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are made to accommodate such cases.
Note: All candidates requesting Special Accommodation in the Attiki Region will be taking their exam in Agia Paraskevi.
Clarifications
  • Medical documentation in support of requests for special accommodation must be submitted within the registration period. No supporting documentation will be accepted beyond the registration period and no accommodation can be awarded thereafter. The MSU Testing Offices reserve the right to reject or modify a request for special accommodation.
  • Medical reports and additional documentation submitted beyond registration deadlines will not be taken into consideration (with the exception of emergency incidents such as accidents).
  • Candidates dealing with health issues (e.g. diabetes) or who are under medication should contact the MSU Exam Center in order for the examiners to be aware of the specific condition. Please note: additional time to complete the exam is not be granted for candidates who may need to take a short break to address a medical issue.
  • The MSU Exam Center reserves the right to reject a request for special accommodation if any of the following conditions apply:
- the medical documents are submitted beyond the set registration deadlines
- the medical documents are issued by private hospitals or non-authorized committees of specialists
- the medical report does not specify the candidates’ disability nor the reason why they should be examined under special conditions
- the medical reports contain vague or inconclusive terminology (e.g. “psychological and emotional difficulties”)
- the recommended way of examination according to KEDDY or the hospital differs from the MSU regulations and policy regarding the way the MSU exams are offered (e.g. oral examination in all section of the test)
- if the nature of the candidate’s condition, based on their medical report, affect administration of the exams
  • All medical documents submitted, will be destroyed 3 months after the end of the examination period (GDPR)
